Trying out a daring look on the red carpet, Kristen Bell arrives at the world premiere of When in Rome at the famous El Capitan Theatre in LA on January 27. Kristen has experimented with unusual cut-outs before, and I think she pulls off this unique Monique Lhullier gown flawlessly (KB's one of a kind dress is hard to come by, but if you love the long length try Karen Zambos' Maxi Dress in Olive or Tricia Fix's Vanessa Long Snake in Snake in similar tonal shades). There have been a lot of complaints about mediocre red carpet attire this season, and I think this is the first truly unique look I've seen – and actually liked. The cut-out shape is exquisitely tailor made to her petite figure, showing just the right amount of skin balanced by a long, flowing train, long sleeves and a high neck. Gold oval earrings (like Kathy Kamei's Past Present & Future Dreams-Tear Drop in Gold) and a simple cuff bracelet (check out Jules Smith's Small Dynasty Bangle in Rose Gold) accent the look and give it an imperial feel. KB wins style points for choosing a knotted hairstyle that coordinates well with the knotted detail at the front of the dress. I don't think there's really much else I can say about it – how do you readers feel about this original design? At the premiere, KB chatted with the press about how tailor-made the role was for her: “That is the story of my life… The girl didn’t revolve around the guy which is 99-percent of scripts — especially romantic comedies. You are not just playing the girlfriend role, or the girl that is heartbroken and wishing she had a boyfriend. This is a girl who didn’t want any of this to come out, but five guys became obsessed with her and started to stalk her. So it was an interesting dynamic.” Kristen's off-screen other half, Dax Shapard, plays one of her suitors in the film – can't wait to see the two of them light up the big screen together!
