COVE QUEST CONTINUES

Finally showing off her radiant red tresses, Hayden Panettiere steps out in a very polished 'fit at a cocktail reception for The Cove in West Hollywood on March. Hayden attended the party celebrating the Academy Award nominated documentary before stopping by the Artists for Peace & Justice event and winding down the night with some friends afterwards. It's the first time HP has showed off her new red locks and oh my, are they red! The overall look is a little jarring but I do have to say I like the dark, dramatic color with her light eyes and fair skin. She certainly looks more grown up – although the attire doesn't hurt either. Hayden stuck to her instincts with a super short strapless mini (check out Jenny Han's Tube Mini Dress in Black) but kept it conservative with a black blazer (like Blaque Label's 3/4 Sleeve Jacket in Black) and classic black Louboutins (love the embossed texture of Coye Nokes' Jacqueline Pump in Black Crocco). HP accessorized with a silver box clutch (check out Whiting & Davis' Crystal Accents Minaudiere in Silver) and simple silver bracelet (can't go wrong with Michele Michel's Bracelet in Silver). What do you think of the whole look, does it work for Ms. Panettiere? Hayden was all smiles at the party celebrating The Cove, but she makes a dramatic appearance in the film sobbing after a failed attempt to save dolphins from slaughter by Japanese fishermen during the 2007 trip that earned her an arrest warrant for protesting. I saw a clip of the film as I watched the Oscars tonight and was shocked to see the footage of the cove turned red after the seasonal hunt. I think that I, like many, had no idea the kinds of horrible atrocities happen to animals beyond the protection of US waters and hope Hayden continuing to bring attention to this issue will make a difference!
