Getting glammed up for a night in Washington, DC without her husband, Eva Longoria flew coast to coast for the White House Correspondents dinner on Saturday, May 9. Eva rallied for Obama in the Latino community before the election, and was invited on behalf of People to watch the President take a stab at comedy at the lavish People-Time-Fortune cocktail party at the Hilton Hotel. In case you haven’t seen clips, Obama rocked the house at the celebrity packed party before Wanda Sykes took the stage… and took it a little too far, according to some opinions. What did you think of her jabs at Rush Limbaugh? Personally, I don't think she said anything worse than he does on his show every day, but it was a little raw. Among the many celebs who turned up for the comedy: Sting, Kevin Bacon, Chris “Ludacris” bridges, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Natalie Portman, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Kind of a random entertainment mix, no? For the swanky affair, Eva chose a floor length fan adorned gown by Ports 1961 (makes the ruffles work for everyday with frocks like Gold Hawk’s Solid Ruffle Dress in Blush Charmus or the Open Sleeve Ruffle Dress in Heatherette. What do you think of the ruffled style on her petite frame? I love the nude shade, especially against Eva’s bronzed skin, but it seems like a lot of dress, little person. At least she styled it right, sweeping her hair back to show off drop earrings (try Amy DiGregorio’s Orchard Park Earrings in 14K Gold Filled with either of the above options). Love the makeup - don’t you think her eyes look gorgeous? After the dinner, Eva attended an after-party at the Corcoran Gallery of Art , hosted by Capitol File magazine’s CEO Jason Binn. Though Tony Parker couldn’t attend, Eva had another hot young man at her side: designer Jason Wu, who I’m sure you remember had his gown chosen by Michelle Obama to wear to the inaugural ball. Jason’s dresses have been spotted on celebs including Katie Holmes and Jessica Alba. I’m sure Eva would look adorable in one of his sexy strapless gowns!
