A couple of days earlier, Mamaguilera ended a lunch at Figaro Café in Los Feliz prematurely, storming off with baby Max on her hip with Jordan trailing after her yelling “Wait!” as she flip-flopped her way outta there. Is there trouble in paradise or did one too many camera flashes set Christina off? At least it looks like they’re trying to work things out over a nice dinner apart from their little one. For her dindin ‘fit, Mamaguilera started with curve hugging grey skinnies (try Hudson’s Carly Skinny Jean in Wharf) with black peep-toe heels and a loose graphic tee (like Signorelli’s Screened Logo Bubble Tunic in Multi). Dressed in a very wintry (bordering on lumberjack) ‘fit, Christina layered up with a plaid button down tunic (tone it down with Zoa’s Long Cotton Shirt with Pleating in Black), a comfy puffed up vest (try Rails’ Dilyn Vest in Black), and her second skin leggings that she never seems to be without (to add some color to the ‘fit above, try Desert Blue’s Phoenix Skinny Jean in Ruby). Not straying from the rocker look, Mamaguilera paired her black nail polish with black flat motorcycle boots, a very round pair of red oversized sunnies, and a strappy black leather tote over her arm (check out Rough Roses’ Whitney Tote in Black). I know the plaid look is hot right now, but how do you feel about Mamaguilera’s rendition of it? I don’t know about you, but those ever shrinking bangs stand out to me more than the vivid red print and the neon yellow trim of her tunic. Seriously, they are looking so painfully short and brittle, do any of you think this is even remotely a good look for her? Maybe her feeble attempts to control her bangs are just an unfortunate side effect of Christina’s self-professed controlling personality. Mamaguilera recently spoke to The Observer Magazine about her past and present: “I was raised in a very chaotic environment… Nothing was ever quite stable or secure for me. Who says you can’t pretend your birthday is Halloween, anyway? The ‘fit might have been okay if she’d left in at that, but throwing in a long charm necklace and hoop earrings with charms in addition to the crimson pout – too much. But hey, at least it looks like she’s finally taking a break from the tanning booth. As her greatest hits album release on Nov 11 looms closer, photos are out and the jury is in: Mamaguilera’s new covershots for “Keeps Gettin’ Better” are her hottest yet, definitely blowing BritBrit’s post-baby body out of the water. Christina must have worked hard to get her tummy that toned again! For a press conf, I would have thought Mamaguilera would pick something a bit more flattering – and less blatantly American, hence trashy – than this brightly colored embroidered tunic (tone it down with Kelly Cushing’s Tunic Top with Vintage Indian Applique in Indigo) with cropped black leggings (try Wifebeader’s classy Pearl Dancers Leggings in Black) and sky high Mary Jane stilettos. Adding a touch too many baubles, Christina added a long pendant necklace (check out Rachel Leigh’s Open Ball Necklace in Silver) mixed with a shorter initial pendant (if you like showing off your moniker, try Christie Martin’s Old English Small Necklace in Gold), oversized hoop earrings (like Lana’s elegant Miami Earrings in Yellow Gold) and a couple of cocktail rings (match the tunic with Rachel Leigh’s funky Bird Ring in Cobalt). The following evening, Mamaguilera took the stage in front of 20,000 fans and put on the biggest production the country has ever seen, complete with light effects and a fireworks display. Of her time spent in the bustling city of Abu Dhabi, Christina said, “I am only here a few days but I plan to have a few nice dinners and possibly see what the night life has in store for us. The city is really building up. There are great places to eat, great night life as well as beaches. It seems to have everything to offer.” If only it could offer Mamaguilera a more tasteful look!

I don’t think anyone can argue the lashes aren’t the only falsies she’s flashing here! Though none of it works when you put it all together, Christina started with an elegant floor length pink frock revealing her buxom bosom (try Gold Hawk’s silk Straight Across Dress in Blush in the same hue), carrying a petite chain strap clutch with a feminine ruffle (like Carla Mancini’s Small Clutch in Black) topped with a sophisticated black overcoat (I love AmberLynn’s Victoria Coat in Plum). From there, adding the mod hoop earrings (dangly earrings like the Rose Swarovski Earrings in Silver by Michele Michel would have been in much better taste) and the 80’s eyes and lips completely clashes with all the feminine, classy items above – where was she going with this? Later that night, Mamaguilera changed into a more appropriate ‘fit and partied into the wee hours of the morning in the VIP room at Whiskey Mist. While sipping a cocktail with her hubby, they were approached by none other than Prince William, who chatted it up and switched numbers with Christina while the Batman looked annoyed to be cut out of the convo. Uh oh, I smell a drunken tiff coming on!

Besides getting her career reignited, Christina recently opened up to People about the changes in her life over the past year: "It is really important to me that I don't lose myself. I still do things that make me feel good. I let my son experience who I am – as an artist, as a musician, things that I love and am passionate about." Motherhood clearly suits her well, and so does the casual look she’s got going on here. Much better than a too-short LBD and hooker boots she normally prefers, if you ask me! All I can think is my, someone had a little too much fun with peroxide and self tanner! Rocking a mod LBD with a contrasting white band (for a similar eyepopping effect, try Tricia Fix’s Rene Mini Dress in Black) and a chic cropped jacket (step it up with Gold Hawk’s Ruffle Leather Jacket in Moonless Night), Christina let her Genie out of the bottle with her knee-high stiletto boots, smoky eyeshadow, and heavily lacquered lashes. Seriously, how is she holding those peepers open? Mama-guilera finished her ‘fit with an envious black and white checkered bag (check out Antoinette Lee’s toned down Anna Stitch Tote in Bone/Black), big hoop earrings (try Kimberly Faith’s Large Open Hoop Earrings in Brass with Gold) and a chunky bauble ring (gotta love Rachel Leigh’s Scripted Ring in Silver or Gold). While hosting the event to encourage America’s youth to get to the polls on Nov 4, Christina promoted her upcoming greatest hits album release while touting the importance of making your voice heard: “Rock the Vote is obviously important to just to get the message out there to young and old — and especially to young — that your voice, your opinion does matter. It's important for me, it's important for the next generation — for my son's generation. It's important to people my age and my sister's age, 10 years younger. Flaunting her voluptuous curves in a sexy mini, Christina Aguilera took to the streets with Russell Brand on September 4 to promote MTV’s upcoming VMA’s – hosted by Brand with a “Genie in a Bottle” revival coming from Mama-guilera herself. For her curbside appearance, Christina paired her super bright airbrushed mini (try Laura Dahl’s Hockney Mini Skirt in Grape for a similar look) with a body hugging tucked in tank (like Autumn Cashmere’s Racer Back Tank in Black) secured by a wide patent leather belt (check out Jack Rabbit’s Patent Leather Breathless Belt in Black). Xtina went with her signature cross necklace (just like Fabian y Felipe’s Dore Cross Necklace in Silver) adding a simple circle cuff bracelet (try Michele Michel’s Bracelet in Silver) along with sky high pumps and her ever present hot pink lipstick. I think Christina pulls off the 80’s inspired look well, with one exception – why is her hair suddenly so stick straight and stiff looking? To me, it looks like a strong breeze will snap her tresses right off like twigs! Besides being in NYC for the VMA’s, earlier this week Mama-guilera announced a new fragrance under her empire, “Inspire.” I haven’t caught a whiff yet, but I’m hoping it will inspire her to go for more natural hair and lip colors in the future! Despite the fact that it can’t be easy to wear heels that high while carrying a squirming baby like Max, Christina politely stopped to sign autographs on her way into the eatery. For her dinner ‘fit, Mama-guilera rocked a long graphic print maxi dress (similar to Plenty by Tracy Reese’s Maxi Slip Dress in Azure), with sky high T-strap wedge heels, a long silver necklace and matching cuff bracelet (try Mickey Lynn’s Sweet Dreams Silver Accent Necklace with Rachel Leigh’s Snake Cuff in Silver), complete with big round shades covering her face (check out JeeVice’s Passionate in Antic Gold). I have a feeling Mama-guilera and family are settling into the Big Apple this week for Christina’s two upcoming performances, the “Fashion Rocks” showcase on September 5, and MTV’s 2008 VMA’s on September 7. Rumor has it, Britney Spears and Madonna may also be taking the stage at this year’s VMA celebration. Personally, I can’t imagine MTV wanting to give BritBrit another shot at a “comeback” after last year’s flop, but the chance of another 3-way kiss between the pop sensations – now you know that possibility and the ratings that would follow has to have producers buzzing! Britney’s rep denies she will appear this year - in fact, she is claiming she turned down the chance to perform again, and Madonna is unconfirmed due to her “Sticky and Sweet” tour in progress. Hmm, seems like a long shot to me, but what do you think – would a 5th year anniversary 3-way for Mama-guilera be a wise idea?

Looking every bit as glamorous and voluptuous as her pre-baby self, Christina Aguilera dazzled the a-list audience at Donald Trump’s party in Bel-Air on August 23 with classic renditions of her biggest hits, including “Beautiful,” which left the Donald noticeably moved. Mama-guilera must have found an all night babysitter for little Max, because she partied until the wee morning hours with celebrities ranging from Hayden Panettiere and Hillary Swank to P Diddy and Orlando Bloom. The shin-dig kicked off the newest edition in the Donald’s long portfolio: the Trump International Hotel & Tower Dubai, a glistening 62 story masterpiece that is sure to be every celeb’s new favorite vacay destination. Christina donned a gorgeous black frock with a sequined bodice, ruffled skirt and sheer back detail (for similar va-va-voom LBD’s, check out Zoa’s Ruffle Tunic in Black or Karina Grimaldi’s Michael Mini Dress in Black) complemented by a thick buckled belt at the waist (like Linea Pelle’s Waist Belt with Leather Covered Studs in Black) and sexy peep toe heels with colorful piping. How can you not love this look? Though it’s a little over the top, I think Christina rocks it – do you readers agree? Mama-guilera was the star performer of the night while Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz kept the turn tables spinning, both giving spectacular shows that left everyone buzzing. Christina told the press, “On a night like this I definitely get those pre-performance butterflies. I think there’d be something wrong if I didn’t get them just a little bit — it’s Mr. Trump!” I guess even celebrities get nervous every now and then, but it paid off once again for Mama-guilera!

Although she is obviously not trying to make a fashion statement, I had to comment on Christina Aguilera’s appearance for Macy’s 150th anniversary ad campaign. Sporting a dramatic look for fall, Mama-guilera was clad in a sheer blouson (check out Zoa’s Polka Dot Ruffle Blouse in Black or Gold Hawk’s Short Ruffle Tunic in Raven Black), a flowy pleated skirt (like Walter’s Military Canvas Skirt in Khaki, luscious chestnut knee-high boots and craaazy crimped hair. My only guess is the hairstylist used an electric socket and a wet finger to create Christina’s intense bewitching look. Besides the over-the-top hair, the ad features some nearly nude dudes chilling on a plush velour couch with a very urban background setting. I can’t wait to see how Macy’s turns this around! In other nude news, an old David LaChappelle photo for Interview magazine from 2004 has surfaced on the web, featuring a very provocative Mama-guilera completely bare, save for a head scarf and sexy white stilettos. There has been some question as to whether or not the photo is legit – Pam Anderson is also in the photo, wearing lingerie – but you can definitely see Christina’s goods, slightly out of place with the other things going on in the photo, including a child holding some balloons. Not one to sit on the sidelines, songstress Christina Aguilera has been hard at work in Studio City over the past few weeks working on her first album since her son Max was born in January. From the looks of things, Mama-guilera has her pre-baby body back and a few new projects in the works. This week it was announced Christina will strut, err, sing her stuff with superstars Beyonce, Mariah Carey, the Black Eyed Peas, Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake, Keith Urban and Rihanna at this year’s “Fashion Rocks” showcase in NYC. Back on July 8 Christina was spotted leaving the studio wearing a casual 80’s-esque screenprint tee (check out Hussy Jr’s Disco Doll Tee in White for a similar look that also gives back to charity), tight black leggings showing off her lovely gams (try Laura Dahl’s Longfellows Leggings in Noir), and a casual gray sweater (Woo’s Rosie Long Grandpa Cardigan in Heather Grey is a great basic). Always a little bold, Mama-guilera rocked electric blue pumps with a long silver necklace (check out Jessica Elliot’s Large Sterling Antique Skeleton Key Necklace), flashy silver hoops (like Rebecca Norman’s Medium Oval Hoop Earrings in Silver), and a big black tote (see Carla Mancini’s East West Tote in Metallic Crocodile for a similar tote with a peaceful message). The only part of this creative ensemble I’m not crazy about is the hot pink lipstick – do you think it works for her? In addition to her appearance at “Fashion Rocks,” Christina’s upcoming projects include a public service announcement for the “Rock the Vote” campaign in which she will sing “America the Beautiful” with her baby boy in her arms. On Larry King, Christina said, "It was really important for me to get involved and get excited about this election in particular, for the future of my son." Coming from a girl who cast her first ballot in the 2004 election, it’s refreshing to see a celeb getting involved in politics for unselfish reasons. Christina Aguilera reminded us yet again that we are all "beautiful, no matter what they say" on the red carpet at the Broad Contemporary Art Museum opening in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 9. After recently giving birth, Aguilera showed off a much curvier shape on Saturday. Defining glamour, Christina stormed the carpet shining head to toe. Christina began her look with a pair of leopard skin heels. On top, Christina showed off her assets with a low cut cobalt blue dress (just like Lotta Stensson's Twisted Empress Dress in Peacock). Aguilera accessorized her look with a sterling silver clover style cuff (just like Jessica Elliot's Open Clover Cuff in Sterling Silver ) and a black stone and sterling silver necklace (check out Kuo Ting Jewelry's Metallic Black Resin Chain Necklace ). Christina was accompanied by hubby Jordan Bratman, leaving their new son Max home for the evening. Aguilera recently spoke about her new inspiration, her son Max, saying, "This whole incredible thing that's taken part in my life, between the pregnancy and the birth, I've got so much to be inspired about and so much in my life to write about," Christina tells, adding, "I've been brain-storming for the last nine months, actually. This next album will have a whole new me, so there's a lot to look forward to." Maybe this new inspiration will give her re-inspire in the studio as well. It's doubtful we will see Christina back at her "Dirrty" stage, but you never know.
