ChloŽ Stevens Sevigny (born November 18, 1974) is an American film actress and former model. Sevigny became known for her fashion career in the mid-1990s, both for modeling and for her work at New York's Sassy magazine, which labeled her the new "it girl" at the time. Sevigny made her film debut with a leading role in the controversial 1995 film Kids, which was the beginning of a long line of roles in critically acclaimed independent and often avant-garde films which she starred in throughout the decade. It wasn't until 1999 when Sevigny gained serious critical recognition for her first mainstream role as Brandon Teena's girlfriend, Lana Tisdel, in Boys Don't Cry. For her performance Sevigny received Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for Best Supporting Actress. Sevigny has continued acting in mostly independent, but critically acclaimed roles in art house films and has recently enjoyed success on the American television series Big Love, playing Nicki Grant, a fundamentalist Mormon woman married to a polygamist. In addition to her work in film and television, Sevigny also has two off-Broadway theatre credits, and has starred in several music videos. Still iconic for her New York-based fashion sense, she has also continued to pursue work in the fashion industry, designing several vintage style clothing lines. In October 2007 the French fashion house Chloť announced that she would be one of the spokesmodels for their new fragrance. In addition, she has been in a number of cover photo shoots and interviews, such as in the January 2007 issue of House and Garden titled "Subversive Spirit". Sevigny is currently releasing a clothing line in conjunction with downtown New York City boutique Opening Ceremony, which is expected to open in mid 2008. As of 2009, Sevigny is still continuing work on Big Love, with the show's fourth season slated to air in January 2010.

ChloŽ Sevigny seen on Apr 12 2010 in New York, NY. ChloŽ Sevigny was photographed at the Metropolitan Opera Gala Premiere of "Armida" in NYC on April 12, donning a fashion forward ensemble straight off of the Yves Saint Laurent Fall 2010 runway. She paired a wide legged black YSL jumpsuit (try similar, and much more affordable, options on CoutureCandy, like Gold Hawk's Camisole Jumpsuit in Black or Tt Collection's Mia in Black) with slouchy black gloves and an oversized heart charm necklace (similar to Archive's French Souvenirs Necklace in White Brass). For the finishing touches, ChloŽ held onto a black clutch (Zambos & Siega's Morgan Clutch in Black is similar) and let her lips pop with a cherry red lipstick. I only wish that the carpet wasn't black, so we could have seen a bit more of her shoe choice! While this is definitely a fashion risk, do you think that ChloŽ pulls it off? ChloŽ has always been well known for her daring fashion choices, and she rarely bores on the red carpet. Then again, that's one of the reasons why we love writing about her... she keeps it exciting!
ChloŽ Sevigny seen on Apr 06 2010 in New York, NY. ChloŽ Sevigny was spotted at the release party for Derek Blasberg's "Classy" book in NYC on April 6, and was seen mingling with other guests such as Leigh Lezark throughout the evening. Wearing a gorgeous green and blue printed Proenza Schouler dress (for two similar options, check out Meghan Fabulous' Amelie Dress in Teal or Fighting Eel's Roo Tunic in Green) that she paired with black peeptoe booties (try Coye Nokes' Grace Wedge Sandal in Black) and black socks, I can still spot ChloŽ's red pedicure through her sheer socks! She completed her look with a few delicate rings and a black leather shoulder bag - I adore Julie K Handbags' Robin Bag in Black. What are your thoughts on CS' outfit at this event, everyone? I am a big fan of her style and love it when she gets it so right. I'm sure you heard about what a controversy it was when ChloŽ recently said how "awful" the last season of her show "Big Love" was, and as expected, she released an apology shortly thereafter. She said, "I feel pretty terrible. I feel like what I said was taken out of context, and the [reporter] I was speaking to was provoking me. I was in Austin [at the SXSW festival] and really exhausted and doing a press junket and I think I just... I wasn't thinking about what I was saying." You can be exhausted, but I don't really think that's any excuse! Her original comments were: "It was awful this season, as far as I'm concerned. I'm not allowed to say that! It was very telenovela. I feel like it kind of got away from itself. The whole political campaign seemed to me very far-fetched." Do you think that her apology made up for her offensive claims? Like I always say, don't bite the hand that feeds you!
ChloŽ Sevigny seen on Jan 15 2010 in Los Angeles, CA. Chloe Sevigny was spotted at the New York Times Style Magazineís Pre-Golden Globe Awards Party hosted by Dom Pťrignon, held at the Chateau Marmont in LA on January 15. While Chloe usually likes to add a bit of edge or quirkiness to her looks, she stayed true to the beautifully feminine design of this Christian Dior Spring 2010 patterned chiffon mini dress with floral sleeves, and I love that she seems to be carrying a red rose to accentuate her rosy pucker. Get Chloe's look by going with one of CoutureCandy's gorgeous dresses, like Da-Nang's similar 3/4 Sleeve Feather Tunic in Lucid or Tricia Fix's Chromatics Mini in Snake, and pairing with black cutout heels, a black crocodile clutch (try Jalda's Croc Original Clutch in Black) and a pair of look-at-me earrings (I love the design of Tuleste Market's Hexigon Stud Earring in Silver). Finish your look off with a freshly cut rose and a sleek updo, and you'll be all set. For those of you Chloe fans who caught the Golden Globes tonight, you'll be pleased to know that Ms. Sevigny took home the award for Best Supporting Actress on TV for her role on the hit series "Big Love." Chloe looked stunning donning a ruffled lilac silver Valentino gown (check out a picture here). She looked absolutely beautiful and delivered a cute acceptance speech. What do you think - did she deserve the Globe?
ChloŽ Sevigny seen on Dec 19 2009 in Los Angeles, CA. One of my favorite stylish gals, ChloŽ Sevigny made an appearance at the Los Angeles premiere of her new film, My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done directed by David Lynch, on December 19 rocking a look that people will either love or they will hate. She started with a pair of exotic printed high waisted slacks (get the look in classic black with Alice + Olivia's Arthur Pant in Black) and a sheer white tank (try Rough Roses' Park Crop Racerback in White), and paired with a leather motorcycle jacket (it seems like everywhere I look, another star is rockin' a motorcycle jacket - check out Genetic Denim's The Fonda Motorcycle Jacket in Black Mirror) and ruby red lips. She finished up her outfit with a black clutch (similar to Zambos and Siega's Peggy Clutch in Black) and cutout black heels. Okay readers, lay it on me. Do you love CS' look here, or do you hate it? Personally, I think that she looks awesome... she is one of few who could pull this look off. What I love most about her style is that she, like the Olsen twins, wears whatever she wants without seeming to worry what others will think. Quirky at best, a bit strange at worst, ChloŽ's style is always something to talk about! In addition to her work in the new Lynch film, ChloŽ was recently honored with a Golden Globe nomination for her work playing Nicky, Bill Paxton's second wife on the show "Big Love." Do any of you out there watch the show, and do you think the nom was deserved?
ChloŽ Sevigny seen on Nov 14 2009 in Los Angeles, CA. The stylishly quirky ChloŽ Sevigny was photographed posing and looking adorable on the red carpet of MOCA's 30th Anniversary Gala in LA on November 14, managing to look youthful, yet not like she's a grown woman wearing a child's clothing. Dressed in a Miu Miu Spring 2010 dress with bejeweled top and frilly neck and sleeve details, I absolutely adore this look on ChloŽ. From the bubblegum pink lip to the slightly tousled updo and her girlish grin, this all just works. The pale yellow chain bag and criss-cross cutout heels perfectly complement her look without overpowering it. To get a look inspired by CS' outfit, try one of the following frocks that have a similar silhouette; Gold Hawk's Broach Scoop Dress in Cucumber, Voom by Joy Han's Twiggy Puff Sleeve Dress in Black, or Tricia Fix's vibrant Melani Mini in Orange Medallion. Another way to recreate this look is to pair a striking top (like Gold Hawk's Tribal Queen Top in White Essence) with a classic white skirt (try Joe's Jeans' Ollie Skirt in White), tuck it in, and go! What are your thoughts, readers - are you as enamored with Sevigny's look as I am? Chloe's daring style choices often leave her open for criticism, and such was the case with her recent appearance at the same Prada book launch that Emma Roberts also attended. While she opted to expose her bra for the event, one fashion blog reported that "we can only assume you were burgled this week and had all your nice clothes stolen, as that's the only explanation for this red carpet disaster. The whole effect is more crazy lady who went to bank without doing her blouse up than red carpet goddess." Check out the outfit here, and let me know what you think. Call me crazy - but I kind of think CS is making it work!
