CHER-ING THE STAGE

Looking ravishing on the red carpet, Christina Aguilera sparkles at the 2010 Golden Globes at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on January 17 in Beverly Hills, CA. Now that she's crossing over into acting I expect we'll see a lot of her at events like this, and it was very refreshing to see her pull off such a stunning gown. Christina usually adds a vampy twist to her formal looks, but on Sunday she sparkled in a strapless Versace gown with a metal entwined bodice, interested hip details and a beautiful chiffon train (nab the elegant vibe with Jenny Han's Tiered Tube Dress in Sparkle, Sue Wong's Layered Short Dress with Embroidered Flowers in Cream or Alice + Olivia's Moonstone Dress in Grey). The peachy nude shade is gorgeous against her skintone, and the gown is nicely complemented by barely there make-up (well, compared to the goop she usually covers her eyes in) and a sleek, newly shorn bob. I'm just glad the uber short bangs have finally grown out, or at least been covered up with extensions. The side parted, cropped cut gives her a much more mature look, don't you think? At the GGs, Christina posed on the red carpet with Burlesque castmate Cher, whom she also presented the Best Original Song award on stage with. The drop-dead gorgeous duo poked a little fun at their host while "shamelessly" promoting their new flick, which they've been filming tirelessly in LA over the past few weeks. I knew Christina was very short, but didn't realize how tall Cher is until I saw them standing next to each other at the event – especially with the colors of their gowns it's almost like a fashionable Wicked Witch of the West meets Glinda the Good Witch! What do you think of Christina's sophisticated new look – are you as happy as I am to see the bleached bangs and hot pink lipstick retired for a night?
