A pretty n' purple Katy Perry watches her step with fiancé Russell Brand protecting her from the paps as they exit Trousdale nightclub in Hollywood on May 7. It's been a pretty tumultuous week for KP, celebrating both the release of her new girly pop single "California Gurls" and her new title as the Hottest Woman Alive on Maxim's Annual Hot 100 list. Russell is one lucky guy! While out on the town Katy displayed her sparkly engagement ring, living up to her quirky style in a vibrant purple printed frock (check out Shumaq's Isa Dress in Black and Meghan Fabulous' Chesney Mini Dress in Teal for similarly gorgeous, bold options) paired with lilac pumps (Gwyneth Shoes' Trixie in Purple are a different style with a fab purple hue). Adding a mix of black and gold accessories, Katy carried a slim black clutch on a long strap (I'm sure KP would flip for CC Skye's rockin Janey Fringe Hobo Bag in Black with Gold) and paired two gold cuffs to complete the look (love the unique style of CC Skye's Chloe Lock Bracelet in Black/Gold). In addition to the sizzling press KP got from Maxim, the busty brunette is also on the cover of Lucky magazine this week, where she dished on her style evolution from her quirky fruit inspired days to the present, telling: “I’ve gone from Betty Boop to more Bettie Page. It’s less cute and more meow.” It's still pretty cutesy if you ask me! KP also confessed some style secrets of her past: “I was completely broke. I used to borrow outfits, get my makeup done at makeup counters, and then sneak into events. It was cool! I seemed to be wearing things right.” Things are definitely looking up these days!
