Rihanna was spotted out and about in Los Angeles on January 6, keeping it simple in a slinky black minidress (like Laura Dahl's Shift Dress in Noir) or Betsey Johnson's Trapeze Dress in Black) and her instantly recognizable edgy bob. Rihanna accessorized with a deep red bag (check out Julie K Handbags' Tantum Bag in Cognac), gold bangles (just like Rachel Leigh's Audrey Bow Bangle Set in Gold) and metallic gold peep-toe heels. There have been rumors spreading around the internet lately about Rihanna that I don't know if I buy or not; rumors that claim Rihanna and Michael Jackson have more in common than just a love of music. Allegedly, Rihanna has been using skin bleaching cream to lighten her skin! A source from Rihanna's hometown of Barbados says, "When she was a child her mother used to smear Ambi (the skin bleaching cream) on her face so that she could be lighter. And I know that whenever she comes to Barbados, one of her assistants goes to the store and pick up a fresh batch. I'm not sure if people in [the United States] know about Ambi, but it's a very big thing here in the Caribbean. But if you use it too much you get cancer so she better be careful." Yikes! What do you think, does Rihanna's skin look like it's lightening up, or is this just another laughable rumor?

Im a black woman that is like the shade that she used to be. It's possible to lighten up naturally but not like 5 shades !! Im not surprised though alot of black people use bleaching products now days. to be lighter (whiter) means to be more accepted.guest on Oct 20 2009 @ 02:51 PM
