BRINGING MTV TO BERLIN

I loved both of Katy Perry's red carpet looks at the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards this year I couldn't decide which to feature. The awards were held in Berlin this year on November 5, with KP hosting for the second time in a row. If your first reaction was, "where's her trademark fruit?" KP answered that question at the press conference the day before the show: “Last year I was all bright and fruity, but now we’re in Berlin it’s going to be all sexy, dark and romantic with a cabaret undertone.” For the press conf, Katy picked a flirty Jenny Packham dress in a faded pink shade with a fancy clasp at the waist, sheer lacy yoke and a voluminous feathered skirt (if you love the almost nude shade try Sue Wong's Gladiator Short Dress in Blush). KP paired this look with Louis Vuitton Cancan heels in a bronze shade. At the show the next day, Katy walked the red carpet in a gorgeous nude tulle Marchesa gown with embroidered black floral appliqués covering the right shoulder (try similarly decadent options from Sue Wong like the Victorian Layered Gown in Ivory or the Vintage Inspired Beaded Gown in Ivory). The mermaid skirt gives her gorgeous enhanced curves – I'm totally wowed by this look! KP wore her tresses in an old fashioned updo and kept her accessories simple with a single silver bracelet (personalize the look with Christie Martin's Love Bangle in Sterling Silver). Which look is your fav? While KP might have lost her nom for Best Video to Beyonce, she definitely won in the sartorial awards. Her wardrobe was filled with spectacular gowns including a jack-o-lantern-esque Viktor & Rolf gown, a feathered white Marchesa frock screaming showgirl and a dramatic blue sequined Georges Chakra Couture gown with a dazzling fringed skirt.
