Venturing into the comfort zone, Jessica Alba strolls the Century City mall in Beverly Hills on January 3, heading out with hubbie Cash Warren and baby Honor at her side. Nothing wrong with throwing on a casual sweatpant from time to time, but I think Jessica's choice takes a serious turn to the frumpy side of mommy fashion. From the front pleats to the cuffs to the baggy crotch, I can't find one nice thing to say about these pants! It's funny how even a boring skinny jean would have turned this 'fit around from frump to casual fab. For her mall outing Jess started with a casual purple cardi over a white tank (get comfy in Splendid's luxurious Very Light Jersey Cardi in Sangria with PGD Style's classic Fancy Tank in White), with the aforementioned pants and classic white Converse All Stars (for a bottom alternative, try Civil Smith's much better fitted Dede Boyfriend Chino in Grey). Accessorizing with a python print bag (try Zambos and Siega's Brooke Bag in Chocolate or Ivory) and a long beaded necklace (love the casual simplicity of Castaway's Onyx Beads on Antique Chain in Onyx), I think overall the casual look is cute. Would you readers wear the baggy pants or are you in agreement that they're a little frumpy? Let's just assume Jess hasn't had time to do laundry yet, as she and the fam spent the holidays relaxing beach side in Mexico, savoring the last few days of 2009 before Jessica's whirlwind year gets started. Jess has a total of 5 movies already slated for release this year, so we can expect to see her on the red carpet quite a bit! From drama An Invisible Sign of My Own to rom-coms Valentine's Day and Little Fockers to playing a prostitute in The Killer Inside Me, we'll have a chance to see Jess do a little bit of everything this year!
