Taking a break from work, Jessica Alba made her way to Bergdorf Goodman in NYC on Oct 30 to attend an exclusive party for her Latino pal Narciso Rodriguez’s book signing. I can’t help but add Jess looked stunning with her glowing smile and glossy curled locks, complete with that body-hugging dress – very brave for a woman who gave birth less than six months ago! Clad in a demure charcoal sheath dress with an edgy zipper front (check out the similar styles of Black Halo’s Color Block Mini Jackie O Dress in Ash or Suzabelle’s Emilia Day Dress in Grey Heather), classy sheer black nylons and sophisticated square toed flats (a classy heel like Matiko’s Bailey Pump in Grey Patent would have worked better), Jess posed for the press and showed off her newly acquired bangs. Seems the bangs are back big this season, and Jess isn’t the first celeb to rock the fringed look – do you think it works for her? Besides spending a night mingling with New York’s fashion elites, Jessica has been hard at work filming An Invisible Sign of My Own, in which she plays an awkward mathematical genius who learns to love herself by teaching second graders math. Not exactly the most stimulating plotline, but the frumpy costumes Jess has been spotted filming in are pretty entertaining, from dumpy bucket hats and book bags to pencil chewing. And after a long day’s work, Jess has something extra to smile about: she agreed to do the film on the condition that her infant daughter Honor would be with her on set. Jess told People magazine: “To be honest with you, it’s tough – and if it was any other movie I wouldn’t be doing it. It’s difficult to spend any time away from her. I love my daughter and she’s going to be with me every day on the set.” Good mom, good actress – seems like a permanent “take you daughter to work day” isn’t such a bad idea for her!
