Blake Lively was seen making quite the shoe statement as she strolled around the set of "Gossip Girl" in NYC on November 9, rocking a pair of, um, unique Christian Louboutin heels. After slipping into Louboutin's Alex Lion Paw Pumps, Blake wore a pair of coated J Brand skinny jeans (just like Bleulab's Reversible Curve Legging in Azurite Brick) along with a sheer striped tee (try Wit.'s Burnout Pocket Tee in White) and an Autumn Cashmere cardigan (get the look with Free People's Hemingway Cape Cardigan in Camel Combo). From there, BL accessorized with Dolce & Gabbana's Miss Sicily bag (for something similar in leather, try Julie K Handbags' Robin in Bubble Lamb Grey) and her adorable pup Penny. What are your thoughts on this Blake ensemble, everyone? And more importantly, do you like her outlandish footwear choice? The second Blake slipped into this pair, the internet was abuzz with opinions of what seemed like nearly every blogger. While some bloggers described the Loubs as "awful, awful shoes" and "freaky," Michael K at one of my favorite blogs DListed had this to say: "I mean, has it really come to this? Are we as a society really spending thousands of dollars for shoes that make us look like we're about to chase after some antelopes or sing about the circle of life? Do you really want to look down and think of King Mufasa plummeting to his death? I swear Blake's dog keeps looking at those shoes like she wants to start a fight with them." Ha! On one hand, I applaud Blake for taking fashion risks, but on the other, these shoes are just WEIRD.

Yes, it is ridiculous, and fitting that her dog would want to play with these shoes. But Mr. Louboutin is a friend of Blake's and most likely gave them to her. He's certainly sold enough of those shoes to be able to give a few pairs away! (Personally I hope there's a backlash against these shoes, but it won't happen, the rich will stay rich.)
