BIRTHDAY SURPRISE?

Showing off her passion for all things environmental, Sophia Bush attended the Darker Side of Green debate held at the Palihouse in LA on July 8, which also happened to be her 28th birthday. Sophia and her on and off screen beau Austin Nichols were nearly denied entry to the event due to an overzealous fire marshal, but luckily they made it in and listened for nearly two hours to a fiery debate between Professor Simran Sethi and a global warming skeptic. It seems like a heavy situation for some, but would any of you have jumped at the chance to be at Sophia's side? For the event Sophia went for a laidback look, pairing cropped indigo leggings (love the fit of Joe's Jeans' 25" Jegging in Juliett) with a matching blazer (to put a casual twist on the classic jacket try Monrow's Double Breasted Tuxedo Jacket in Black) covering a graphic tee featuring the "hang loose" hand sign (if you're in the mood for a fun tee, check out Lauren Moshi's collection like the Camilla Tail Swing in White). To glam up the look SB wore her favorite black cut-out heels she's had since last spring (for an update try Farylrobin's Jessica in Black) and carried a black studded bag at her side (love the chain strap detail on Danielle Nicole's Sahara Studded Messenger in Black), polishing off the look with a sparkly pair of bangles (love the details on Anna Beck's Timor Skinny Bangles in Silver). I like that she's mixing fun pieces into this casual look, but I'm not sure I love the matchy-matchy top and bottom. What do you readers think, does she pull it off? While Sophia tweeted after the debate about what a great time she had, her bf Austin revealed during their red carpet entrance he might have a special birthday surprise in store for her. When asked if he and SB had any engagement plans like their on-screen characters, Austin slyly replied, "In real life? We shall see!" before heading to take their seats.
