BALANCING FAMILY TIES

Showing off a cute, spunky look, Jessica Alba heads out for a little shopping venture with baby Honor Marie in Beverly Hills on May 7. The happy mom and daughter duo did what they did best at a string of BH boutiques, including the posh Prada store on Rodeo Drive. Enjoying the warm spring temps, Jess lightened up in cut-off boyfriend shorts (love the worn in look of True Religion's Blaire in Medium Drifter) and a cute floral tank (check out Ella Moss' Ginger Drop Top in Dime or Karen Zambos' Vera Top in Confetti to add a little flower power to your spring look). Cherry red boots and slouchy charcoal socks add a harder vibe to Jessica's sweet from the waist up look, embellished with an ornate cuff bracelet (check out Amrita Signh's Ayau Cuff in Silver) and loose, hippie-esque waves in her hair. What do you think of Jessica's look, would you rock it? The boots are definitely not what you see her wearing everyday, but I have to say I really like the tough vibe she's portraying here. Completely goes against the casual mom style she usually embodies! As evidenced by most of her style sightings, when Jessica is at home in LA she spends most of her time hanging out with her daughter Honor. But that doesn't mean she and Cash will necessarily push their own beliefs on their baby girl, as she recently discussed while divulging some info about her past: "I come from a religious and traditional family. My mom grew up in the South and she had a Southern Baptist upbringing but my father was very Catholic. It's hard to rebel without your family feeling like you're rebelling against them… I don't necessarily always agree with certain things and that has nothing to do with how much I love them or how much they love me. Family is the most important thing in the world." Jess and Cash certainly do take their family time seriously! What are your thoughts on family bonding, readers?
