An early review of the disc on Associated Content says that the lead single, "'It's Alright, It's Ok' comes off as a Kelly Clarkson rip off, a sweet-voiced verse and an explosive pop hook. While this formula has been done time and time again, it's still an uplifting fun song without the big sounds Clarkson would deliver." On a more positive note, the review continues, "'Masquerade' stands out as one of those pop rock tracks that have potential on the sophomore effort. Loud guitars and shouting vocals make this a fun fist pumping tune about contorting with a love interest to make him happy. 'Erase and Rewind' takes on the same style but amps up the bass drum in her dance pop tune that Katy Perry could have handed to her." Will any of you be checking out her new album when it drops?

The one good thing about hair, though, is it always grows back! I know that Ashlee tends to look to other stars for fashion inspiration (Fergie, Mary-Kate Olsen (with those knee-high gladiator sandals) and Nicole Richie, just to name a few), but I like this look on her. It's fun without being too fussy. Works for me. While Ashley is definitely a bonafide Disney star, it seems that the Tis is longing for roles that are more "racy" and "edgy." Wearing a psychedelically patterned mini dress (Tricia Fix's Aubrey Mini Dress, in Yellow Brown Daisy and Orange Medallion, have similarly trippy patterns) with knee high brown boots and a gold charm necklace (check out Erica Anenberg's Charm Necklace in Gold), this outfit is totally one that Mischa Barton would wear. It seems that the Tizz has been turning to a lot of Hollywood's other fashionistas for inspiration lately (Mary-Kate Olsen in my most recent post, Mischa Barton in this post)... do you think that Ash has any stylistic originality of her own? While we all know that "High School Musical 3" is coming to the big screen soon, I wasn't aware that the last day of filming was so emotional for the cast- Ash in particular! Tisdale says, "We went into the last day thinking, 'It'll all be fine 'cause we're all really good friends and we're so close'. It wasn't even the last scene- we couldn't get through it. We were crying and just so emotional over the whole thing... It's definitely something that's tough to leave and say goodbye to." So I'm guessing there's no HSM4?

Tisdale started her summertime look with a scoop neck black mini dress (LaROK's Rock Star Mini Dress in Black has the same silhouette as Ashley's, but is adorned with metal studs that give the dress a rocker edge, while Qi's Scoop Neck Dress in Blue Nights is also similar to Ashle's, but in a deep blue hue) and the same shades that Madonna's been wearing lately, in addition to her Prada “Cervo Antic” bag (which is similar to Rough Roses' Kimberly Bag in Brown) and the mega-tall sandals. Ashley was definitely hitting up all of these Los Angeles salons in order to get perfect for her 23rd birthday, which she celebrated in Hawaii with her boyfriend Jared Murillo. It seems that the two haven't been able to get a lot of privacy on the beaches of Hawaii, as paparazzi photos have been popping up online constantly. My question is... these paps that go to Hawaii to photograph these young stars... do they get like an all expense paid trip to Hawaii or what? For a job that definitely has many downfalls, you have to admit that this is definitely a perk!

Judging from the picture on the left, where Ash has the typical messy wet bun a la Britney Spears, Mr. George spent the three hours that she was at the salon blowing out and straightening Ms. Tisdale's golden locks. For Ashley's casual-cool summer look, start with a pair of teeny tiny light wash shorts (like Joe's Jeans' Braided 5 Pocket Short in Berkley) and pair with a girly embroidered cami (Yoana Baraschi's Heirloom Mesh Bow Cami in Ivory is a bit dressier, while Johnny Was' Ping Posies Tank in Black is similar to Ashley's, but in black) and big shades (like JeeVice Optics' Red Hot Sunglasses in Black/Smoke). Ashley then slipped into a pair of brown knee-high boots and brought along a matching brown Prada bag (Rough Roses' Kimberly Bag in Brown is similar and undoubtedly a lot less than Ashley's Prada), and finished off her look with a dainty necklace and a bunch of beaded bracelets (I love the unique look of Castaway Jewelry's Grenada Bracelet in Dark Topaz, which is made out of sea glass). While Tisdale is a natural brunette, she says that her blonde locks are much more her. Ash said that blonde hair "suits my personality. I guess I was a brunette with a blonde personality." No arguments here!

Ashley Tisdale showed up to the filming of the finale of "American Idol" in LA on May 22, and I just have to say this, as I know many of you are thinking it- enough is enough already with the hair extensions, Ash! We get it... you want to have long, flowing locks- but this is a little overboard, wouldn't you say? However, I will give Ash props for her casual yet chic outfit, which started with a dainty black camisole (very similar to Gold Hawk's Tribal Eyelet Camisole in Moonless Night) and turquoise necklace (Castaway Jewelry's Mauritius Necklace is an interesting choice, as it is constructed out of African sea glass for an atypical look). Tisdale finished her look with a pair of wide-leg trousers, like Lotta Stensson's Palazzo Pant in White, black peeptoe Loubs and an army green studded Balenciaga bag. I swear this girl and Vanessa Hudgens have the same stylist. Either that or they share a lot of each others' clothes, as the two girls are BFF. While I'm sure you're aware that the filming of High School Musical 3 is underway, I'm not sure if you knew that Ashley required a police escort to the set on the first day of filming. Seriously? Sheesh. An on-set source said, "The police officer only left her side when she was actually involved in shooting a scene. Apparently, during the shoot, Ashley was seen looking unsociable and was reportedly not speaking to other cast members (except Vanessa Hudgens) who was not shooting that day." Okay, I realize that HSM is like this big huge deal, but is a police escort REALLY necessary??

While Ash has caught a lot of negative press for her plastic surgery lately, it's good to hear that some positive press is out there for A.Tis as well! This week's US Weekly features Ashley and BFF Vanessa Hudgens, who speak out about sharing almost everything... except Zac Efron that is! Tisdale says, "I call her my twin sister. She’s always there for me. Some people are really competitive, (but) we’re not. We’re really supportive of each other. You don’t find that a lot in this business." Ain't that the truth!

Ashley began her day after a morning workout with BFF and fellow "High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens, followed by a pampering at the nail spa (check out the red tips!). After leaving Oasis Nail Spa and getting a manicure and pedicure, Tisdale tried (tried being the key word) to pull off a stylish look by combining both casual and chic looks. Clearly a fan of Louis Vuitton, Tisdale made sure to sport the signature print on both her scarf and handbag. Ashley then went on to combine more casual pieces with a pair of light colored skinny denim (similar to Hudson Jeans' Stella Skinny Jean in Misty) and a classic v-neck tee in heather gray (look at Laura Dahl's Fievel Tee in Noir). Tisdale completed her look with gold bangles (just like Danielle Stevens Jewelry's Alligator Bangle in Gold) around her wrist and a pair of gold sandals, making sure not to mess up her fresh pedicure. Tisdale has been receiving a lot of press recently regarding her recent highly publicized nose job, about which Tisdale says was strictly to help her breathing due to a deviated septum, but others believe otherwise. After being known for her slightly unflattering nose, Tisdale headed to surgeon of the stars, Dr. Raj Kanodia. Most believe that the nose job was done for aesthetic reasons and to help boost her career. While it's unsure whether or not a medical reason was really to blame, I'm not sure this new nose is an improvement. Thoughts?
