As Ashlee Simpson walked down the beige carpet (?) last night, April 26, at Us Weekly's Hot Hollywood Party, I had to think, was she inspired by Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz? Wearing a Brian Reyes striped dress (Walter's striped dress is similar) with bright red shoes and a clutch, Ash was definitely channeling Dorothy. Striking poses is obviously nothing new to Ashlee, who is featured in May's issue of Harper's Bazaar, clad in designer duds and finally talking about her drastically changed look. When asked about her rumored (and obvious) plastic surgery, Ash simply says how "I loved how I looked. I’m not an insecure person, nor was I before. It’s a personal choice. I believe if somebody chooses to do plastic surgery, it [should be] for yourself, not for anyone else.” Well there's a textbook response if ever I've heard one. At least her philosophy on life seemed a little more genuine, as Ashlee told the mag how she "just wants to have fun. Life is too short…through all my changes, I’m still the same person." Ash still seems to be comfortable with herself, which in the end is truly the most important thing.
