Kirsten Dunst went out for a walk with her pooch in Hollywood on September 3, looking casually cute on her way to meet friends for dinner. Kiki’s been taking it easy lately in between projects, and her style has taken a little dip as well, but I have to say I think she’s starting to redeem herself here. Wearing a super casual green t-shirt dress (check out Woo’s Gina Dress in Fiji Blue), with a mod double closure belt (like Rock Paper Scissors’ Clamshell Reversible Belt in Black/Grey), funky woven sandals (try Matiko’s Claire Flat in Whiskey), and her fav rounded black sunnies, KD carried an oversized tote bag (try the similar shape of Antoinette Lee’s Stella Tote in Royal) with an iron grip on her dog’s leash. Kiki’s latest flick, How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, will premiere next month, but it seems like the title is already becoming a sort of prophecy come true for her. During filming, Kiki’s penthouse hotel room was burglarized, and now she might have to testify in court. Although one of the crooks plead guilty to stealing her $13k Marc Jacobs bag and was sentenced to 4 years in jail last week, it looks like the other thief is going to let a jury decide his fate. If the proceedings continue, Kiki will have to take the stand to affirm that all goods taken belonged to her, including her cell, 2 digital cameras, Balenciaga bag and $2,500 in cash (Yikes! Why carry so much cash, KD? I mean, NY is famous for muggings!) Sadly, even though the thieves were caught, neither of the pricey bags have been returned to Kiki yet… bet she’s anxious to see her goods home safe and sound! On top of her legal woes, rumor has it that during the filming, KD had the author of the book the film is based on kicked off the set. Toby Young recently explained to the press, “She overheard me giving the producer a ‘note’ on her performance in a particular scene. At the time, I didn’t think of it as a criticism, more as a helpful bit of advice, and the producer took it in that spirit. But Kirsten overheard this exchange and interpreted it as a complaint about her acting ability. It was after this, apparently, that she took Bob (Weide, the director) to one side and asked if I could be kept at arm’s length in future.” What do you think – was Kiki wrong to be offended, or is Toby just trying to get his 15 mins of fame?
