Anne can also find comfort that her latest sci-fi flick, Passengers, hit theaters on Friday. If you’re surprised you haven’t seen any previews, you’re not living under a rock – Sony scaled back the promotions on this film, and it’s playing on less than 200 screens across the country. I have to wonder, with a starring actress like Anne and all the hype after her Rachel Getting Married performance, why would the entertainment giant keep this one so hush-hush – any thoughts?

Disney’s favorite star Anne Hathaway was certainly looking the part of her next role in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland as she attended an event in Beverly Hills on Oct 6. I can’t decide if I love or hate the metallic stripes on her matching top and skirt (for similar tailored options, see Parameter’s Mini Dress in Navy in the same color scheme or Shumaq’s Sophia Dress in Navy), but I definitely am not a fan of that sash or the platform spike heels. Guess Anne isn’t trying to please the Miranda Priestly’s of the world anymore! I have to hope she’s getting into character as the White Queen to stand alongside Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska in what is sure the be the next Disney hit. Until filming gets started, Anne glammed up for Elle Magazine’s tribute to “Women in Hollywood” at the Four Seasons in BH, standing tall with her hair naturally curled and wearing minimal jewelry other than a silver ring on her right hand (similar to Femme Metale’s Rectangle Ring in Silver) – trying to empower herself with the whole right-hand-ring movement, maybe? I for one am quite impressed by how quickly Anne recovered from her split with her con-man ex just a couple of months ago. For a brokenhearted girl she definitely puts on a pretty face!

She attributed her quick recovery to giving up cigs, booze and meat – calling herself “vaguely vegan” – which I suppose will give anyone’s skin a healthy glow! The movie won’t be in theaters until Oct 3, but after its success at the Venice International Film Festival everyone is buzzing about Anne’s surprisingly gritty performance as a recovering drug addict. Recently, Anne talked to the press about her secret behind appearing less-than-perfect on camera, “So we were just trying out ideas and I suggested, ‘What if we got drunk the night before and came in feeling hung over the next day? I think we would come in feeling a bit rough and maybe that would make us a little tired and have a little less energy so we look older. So we all did it and it worked. Anne says, "She was so ridiculously fit, it inspired me to get into shape. And when you have to lift yourself from the side of a moving vehicle using only your stomach muscles, it makes you work on your abs." Looks like her hard work is still paying off!
