ALL TIED UP

Like most new moms, Jessica Alba had her hands full on Oct 9, making her way to the pediatrician’s office in Brentwood in the morning and meeting her hubby Cash Warren and a friend for lunch later in the day. Starting with a very basic white cami (see PGD Style’s Fancy Tank in White to get the look while contributing proceeds to lung disease research), loose wide leg jeans with embellished patch pockets at the hips (try Hudson’s Deluxe Wide Leg Jean in Sky) and retro wedge heels, Jess took her ‘fit from casual to chic with her bubble Yves Saint Laurent sunnies, an envious black Tod’s handbag (check out Rough Roses’ Whitney Tote in Black to get the look without breaking the bank), and a psychedelic silk twill scarf by Thomas Wylde (try Alchemy’s equally interesting printed Dagger Medallion Scarf in Blue), adding her fav gold hoops (like Rebecca Norman’s Small Oval Hoop Earrings in Vermeil) and a chunky gold cuff (try the similar raised appearance of Jewel by Bear’s Lucky Bracelet in Gold) to give her look some sparkle. It’s amazing what a little scarf and a classy handbag can do for her! Adding a unique finishing touch, Jess had her hair pulled back in a cute braided ‘do along the lines of Lauren Conrad, giving her a youthful look without overdoing it. Jess is a frequent scarf wearer but I think she really pulls it off perfectly here, without looking frumpy or out of season (since summer is officially over now, after all). So what’s next for Ms. Alba? Besides her controversial involvement with Declare Yourself’s voting campaign, over the past few weeks she’s been spotted numerous times coming and going from her acting coach’s residence – perhaps brushing up her skills for her next project, An Invisible Sign of My Own? Despite the old saying, in Hollywood, it’s never too late to teach an old dog new tricks!
