This pendant is a 19th century bohemian Conus shell from Africa. The British attempted to use this rare and valuable piece to eliminate traditional shell currency. Czech glass bead strand with gold painted wooden discs, powdered glass beads from Bali and brass Ablja beads from Ghana. 26" L. Beaded loop closure.
