Style Diary-Tank Top Shoot Out
The tank top is one of those universal pieces that transcends any wardrobe and any body. It can be rugged, sweet, glamorous or trendy – all without changing its own shape and design. In a complex outfit, it’s a backdrop for layering pieces, while alone it makes its own subtle statement. They were all over the runways for Spring 2005 but most of us have been relying on them as a summer piece all along. Usually inexpensive, easy to care for and incredibly versatile, if your closet doesn’t have at least one already, you may want to give it a try....
For a casual tank top, C&C’s basic tank also wins my vote, mainly because of its material and long length. It’s made of good, old fashioned 100% cotton and is not ribbed, giving it a bit of a modern, casual feel. It holds up well, but I’ve found that it stretches and loses shape a bit after a few hours of wear. The plus on this piece is its length – it’s perfect for wearing long with a belt, layering, etc. Also at roughly $50, it’s a decent buy. I wear these several times a week! Read More…
