Created in 2007 by Newport Beach natives Andy Drakeford and Heather Artukovich, 88 Orange is a brand dedicated to creating light-weight cozy tees that are refined, sexy, and ideal for layering. Raised by European parents, Andy’s love for fashion began at an early age. Designing clothes for her dolls and Barbies eventually lead her to pursuing her career in fashion in New York and London. In 1992, after 15 years of being a top producer and wardrobe consultant, Andy returned to Newport to settle down and start a family. She began working in A’Marees where she met Heather Artukovivh. Heather spent her childhood playing on her grandfather’s orange groves. She pursued her degree in fashion design and was able to hone her skills working for companies like Quicksilver and Three Dots. To gather a more diverse experience in the industry she began working at A’Marees and with Andy’s help, the seeds of 88 Orange began to grow.
Inspired by the Orange County of their childhood, a city that flourished with citrus groves and beautiful open beaches, 88 Orange is all about embracing a simple, abundant, and wholesome lifestyle. Working together to style a wide range of customers, Andy and Heather quickly noticed the absence of a collection of simple basics and quickly decided to fill the void. Referring to the ideal size of an orange picked from the tree to be sold at market, 88 Orange is a reminder of the area’s natural beauty.
Made with 100% supima cotton and cotton voile, these basic tees and knits not only have the naturally beautiful look and feel but each style is infused with their signature “blossom” fragrance, a fresh orange blossom scent which reflects the subtle beauty of the perfect orange. A mix of European fashion and the relaxed modern lifestyle of Southern California, 88 Orange tee shirts and sweaters will give you a classic sophisticated look you can’t find anywhere else!
