A dazzling step for clothing, a giant leap for mankind

Did someone at 7 for All Mankind go wild with a Bedazzler?

Seven’s new collaboration with Great China Wall is a line of heavily embellished denim, pants, skirts and tops. The styles will hit local specialty stores such as National Jean Co. (Newton), Intermix and Riccardi (both in Boston) early next month.

Each crystal, graphic design and stud are applied by hand, so no two pairs are exactly the same. “There’s so much denim out there. People want something that no one else carries,” a 7 spokesperson said.

The collection will span three seasons and include a holiday line of colorfully adorned corduroy pants (coming to stores in November). Men’s and women’s pieces for each season will retail between $295 and $995 according to their level of ornamentation.

The collaboration reteams 7’s executive president, Rick Crane, with his former company, Great China Wall, run by his friend Alfredo Settimio.

Settimio and Crane would like to see their bedazzled zip hoodies, sweatshirts, army pants, crinkle-dyed T’s and denim jeans on Angelina Jolie, Uma Thurman, Jessica Simpson, Katie Holmes, Madonna and Sheryl Crow.

“The vintage stretch denim is very vintage rocker. They’d look great on Lenny Kravitz,” said a spokesperson from 7 for all Mankind.
